The Man in the Toilet

Howdy ho, It’s Lasker here from ShoutOutLounge.com and I have a true story to tell. This happened to me specifically, so I can assure you that it is not made up and no added exaggeration too.

This happened in my office on April 2009. As a multiple-stories building, each floor has its own toilets. This also means everyone on the same floor shared the toilet. Even so, it is quite uncommon to meet someone else using the toilet at the same time as you.

It was mid afternoon when my bladder decided to announce that its time ‘to go’. As it’s lunch time and most of the people are out of the building eating, I told Elise to wait for me before we also go for lunch. I stood up, locked my computer and proceeded to the toilet. The toilet has a main wooden door which has this spring that automatically closes the door back after it’s been open. Only that this particular door’s spring is faulty. So the main door is left open at all time.

Inside the toilet, there are 2 cubicles and 2 urinals. I went into the cubicle and start doing my thing. As any guys would know, whenever you stand and wee wee, the noise can be quite loud and sort of masks out the voice around you. That’s when it happened.

I heard someone walked softly into the toilet through the main door, opened the cubicle beside me, step inside, softly swinging the cubicle door to close. I was sure of this because I saw the his shadow near my feet (the cubicle does not go all the way to the floor, so shadow from someone from the next cubicle can be seen). I also heard him took a deep breath. By then, I was done, and zipping up my pants. I waiting for the sound of wee wee to come from by side cubicle but none came. I waited, and none came anyway.

So I thought, oh well, he must be going take a dump instead. So I decided to leave, fast. Walking out, right in front of me is the sink with mirror on the wall. Washing hands, I glanced up, look into it, see both the cubicles behind me. The one I were from was open, the other was partially closed. Wait a minute, partially closed? For someone taking a dump?

The tap water shuts itself off (its one of those where you push to get water and it springs back to place, turning the water off automatically). Still no sound came, silent. I turned around, the door still partially open. I glanced down, no shadows. Oh crap, what is this. I took a deep breath, pushed the door open, anticipating to see a guy standing or sitting down. The toilet was empty.

I never went back to that toilet again.
