I’m sure you’ve all heard about this, but I’m going to talk about it since I had my own experience.

It happened during the Hungry Ghost Festival period, about one month ago.

That night was especially warm. I sat in front of my computer and did the usual, and the increasingly warm temperature became too hot for me to bear. Naturally, I switched on the air-conditioner and hoped that the air gets cooler. It worked out fine before I decided to go offline and rest.

As I was laying lazily on my bed, the heat gradually came back. It was not a normal thing to happen, for the temperature of my air-conditioner was set at 16 degrees Celsius. I checked the air-conditioner, and found nothing wrong with the settings. Not knowing what’s wrong, and feeling tired, I went back to bed and tried to sleep.

Minutes later, I heard a voice. I thought I was dreaming. That voice, clearly belonged to a female, didn’t say a word, not crying or laughing, but breathing heavily right next to my ears! It was the scary type of breathing noise. I tried to turn my head around to have a look, but to my greatest surprise, my head wouldn’t move! Or rather, some unseen force is preventing me from turning my head. And then I felt the thing grabbing my shoulder, I tried to move my hands but they wouldn’t move too. Even my legs wouldn’t move. I was shaking in fear, my shirt drenched in cold sweat. I was immobilized in my own bed by something I don’t know, and can’t see.

The breathing continued for minutes or hours, I don’t know for sure. It felt like hours to me. It also got louder and scarier, and then it began to laugh while breathing even louder. I thought that was the end of me, when suddenly, I felt its grip on my shoulder loosening, its weight on my body lifting, and I regained control of my body, I can finally move. Just like that, without a trace, it came and left. The temperature of the room returned to normal, and I was all sweat and my body felt weak and still shaky.

I’ve read about this before, also watched television programs, and learned that there are scientific explanations for these weird phenomenas, but that only happens when you’re sleeping on your back, right? I was sleeping on my side the whole time. Why did it still happen? Plus, that clearly wasn’t just an unseen force, it was breathing at my ears and there is that scary laughter.

So if anyone knows how to explain this, please do tell me about it.
